How does WBSO work?
Flat-rate calculation
With the flat-rate method, you receive a fixed amount per R&D hour: €10 for the first 1,800 hours and €4 above that. Simple, with minimal record-keeping.
Actual costs
With actual costs, you can claim all R&D-related expenses. This can be more beneficial, but requires accurate record-keeping and proof.
WBSO percentages
For the first €391,020 of base amount, 36% applies (or 50% for starters). Above that, 16% applies for everyone. Starters only receive the higher percentage in the first bracket.
